16 is Sweet...

Bill with the commemorative mug,
watched by E&MS branch chair Sally Gingell.

On 23rd April, East & Mid Surrey CAMRA presented Shirley and Bill Thomson-Elliott with a commemorative mug to mark their retirement after 16 years at the Garland, Redhill. Bill and Shirley have proved that you can run a successful pub based on two things - great beer and a great community atmosphere. Bill's enthusiasm for real ale has seen the Garland selling an unrivalled selection of beers from Harveys of Lewes, including mild all year round (the only pub in a ten-mile radius which can make this claim). Harveys' Joint Managing Directors Hamish Elder and Miles Jenner joined the branch in wishing Shirley and Bill all the best in the future.
