Vacancy for Branch Social Secretary

After the excellent job she did last year as Social Secretary, Janet Barrett has decided to stand down, and we were unable to persuade anyone to stand for election at the AGM.

So if anyone out there would like to take on the role, this is your opportunity.

The job entails putting together a programme of events for each quarterly edition of News & Ale, and then during the course of the programme making sure arrangements are made, publicity is circulated on the yahoo group, etc.

You don't have to go to every social, and you don't even have to organise each event personally - there are plenty of people who would be willing to organise one or two events, and it would be possible to see the role as largely being a coordinator.

A diary has just been put together for issue 113 of News & Ale, so this would be a good time to start - the next one isn't required for three months, so to start with the role would entail coordinating what has already been put together and maybe organising a few additional events through the
yahoo group.

If you're interested, please drop me an email chairmanshb@camrasurrey.org.uk or give me a ring on 01252 672507. You do have to be a member of the SHB branch of CAMRA, but no previous experience is needed.
