A joyous occasion at the Royal Oak, Great Bookham, as can be seen in the above picture, on Saturday 24th October when landlord Dwayne Kent was presented with his certificate by Branch Chairman Dave Oram for Joint Branch Pub of the Year 2009.

Rick Robinson, landlord of the Willoughby Arms, Kingston was presented with his Joint Branch Pub of the Year award by chairman Dave Oram at the start of his Halloween Beer Festival on Wednesday 28th October. The Willoughby last won in 2001. Since then he has become a firm supporter of the LoCale initiative.
Rick warmly thanked the Branch and the large gathering for his award who gave him a rousing reception, and then went off to ‘sample’ the great selection of ales including many dark beers, such as Ascot Anastasia’s Exile Stout, Downton Chocolate Orange Delight and Hammerpot Bottle Wreck Porter.
